VINCE CARTER

My name is Vince Carter, owner and coach of CrossFit 209 Sport and Elevate Sports Program. My fitness journey started as a young man. I had grown up next to a community center, playing basketball and football and watching older adults work out in the community center gym. The community center was more than just a sports complex, it was a family community building, and it inspired me at an early age to want to get into fitness and help others achieve their goals; this is where I started my journey.

In high school, I found a love for track and field. I guess you can call it a “runner high or passion.” I was the team captain and MVP during my varsity year. I qualified for sections 400, 800, and 4×400 relay teams. I held the school record in the 800 at 1:57.5 in my senior year. Being competitive and beating records led me to want more in life educationally and to pursue my running carrier. The next stop was Junior college, powerhouse track school, at Mt. San Antonio College. During this time, I made All-State in cross-country; I ran 1:53 in the 800, 3:56 in the 1500, and 20:21 in the 4 miles. I made team captain and most improved. I ran one year sponsored by New Balance Cal Coast Track Club.

From there, I went on seeking more fitness, and that’s when I ran into CrossFit and Sports-specific training. In 2009 I made CrossFit regionals. I’ve been training athletes for over ten years, from youth to professional level, specializing in all sports, strength and conditioning, speed, and agility. I’ve been CrossFit Level 1 certified for eight years. I am also certified in Olympic lifting, CrossFit Football, and Mobility. At this time, I am married and have four sons. I love fishing, music, giving back to the community, helping kids in our Team Elevate Program, spending time with my family of 4, and doing God’s will.   Thank you.

Warm Regards,

Vince Carter
